As an Iranian Afghan who fled to America as a child for the protection of personal rights, I have constantly lived with the duality of seeing the world differently, as both a Persian and an American. This duality is always found in my artwork. As a self taught sculptor, I continue to hone my skills and expand on my knowledge daily.
My Father is an architect who always taught the discipline of design and layout. I will always remember watching him move across a drafting board tracing lines and stencils like a swordsman with a calculator for a mind. My Mother is a fashion designer and artist herself that always surrounded me with imagination. I grew up amazed as I watched her mold fabric into moving sculpture. My parents, through genetics and lessons, have blessed my mind and hands to be able to create objects that will inspire and touch everyone.
I have walked many paths with my love for sculpture and mixed media designs. As a child I was always given the red wax that encased the cheese my parents loved, which became my place of creation and imagination. For my first medium, I used what was given to me such as toothpicks and tin foil to build with my hands what others had purchased and held precious. Each time I felt the completion of my works, I would quietly say to my mind in a whisper "what's next to create with?" That constant hunger for more, for the next inspiration, for the next object to build, has led me to this point.
I begin a new series of works soon. I hope all will enjoy.
As a sculptor by discipline, I continuously study the many aspects of sculpture from woodworking to metal work to found objects. I have spent extensive years researching and developing my knowledge of flexible materials including foams and plastics.

As a mixed media sculptor, I work hard to incorporate ideas from all aspects and styles of sculpture into my work. My exploration continued into light and spatial sculptures, incorporating lighting and electronics into my works.
Now, with modern technology bringing forward the innovation of 3D sculpting, my fundamental knowledge of CAD drawing will be a merging of the original foundation for computer design with the much more developed 3D rendering systems of today.
